Spike in 2021 Traffic Fatalities. A Call for Caution on the Road

According to The Associated Press, U.S. traffic deaths saw a troubling rise in the first half of 2021. Compared to the same period in 2020, fatalities jumped a concerning 18%, reaching 20,160. This marks the highest number of traffic deaths in the first half of a year in the last 15 years.

A Cause for Concern

This significant increase in traffic fatalities highlights the importance of road safety. While the exact reasons behind this rise are still being investigated, it emphasizes the need for all drivers to be more vigilant and practice safe driving habits.
Here are some ways we can all contribute to safer roads:
Minimize distractions: Put down your phone and avoid activities that take your attention away from the road.

Obey traffic laws

Speeding, running red lights, and failing to yield are major contributors to accidents.

Drive according to weather conditions

Slow down and be extra cautious when driving in rain, fog, or snow.

Always buckle up.

Seatbelts are your best defence in case of a collision.

Share the road: Be courteous to other drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

A Shared Responsibility
By working together and prioritizing safety, we can create a more responsible driving culture and reverse this troubling trend. Remember, every life lost on the road is a tragedy. Let's all do our part to ensure a safer and more mindful driving experience for everyone.
